To find the origin of Estrella, we have to go back 140 years ago, when a young beer master, called August K. Damm, and his girlfriend Melanie decided to emigrate from Alsace fleeing the French-Prussian war. Their journey brought them to the Mediterranean coast were they settled with the hope to brew beer.

Their dream became true when, in 1876, they founded their own brewery.

At first they had to work hard to create a beer with the ingredients they had to hand and that would adapt to the hot Mediterranean climate. A different kind of beer, an evolution of the central European beers that were made for colder climates and that we know today as Mediterranean Lager.

Their passion for excellence has resulted in Estrella, still being made according to the original 1876 recipe, with natural ingredients and positioning it as a reference among Mediterranean Lagers.
